We would like to invite you to send us a postal Power- Up. The idea is simple, create a postcard with a visual Power-Up on the front and a written response to the question: What does the phrase ‘Power-Up’ mean to you? on the back. For the purpose of this project we are exploring what it means to power-up within the context of human thinking and behaviour rather than gaming or switching on electrical equipment. Postcards received will be scanned (front and back) and shared in our online gallery. The originals will be exhibited at (tbc) and form the starting point of a new artist-led project with young people experiencing acute and complex mental health difficulties.
This project is open to anyone who has something to say about powering-up.
Postcards should be no bigger than A5, 210mm x 148mm. The card orientation can be portrait or landscape, it’s up to you.
Postcards can be created in any medium; your Power-Up could be painted, drawn, stitched, collaged, photographed or printed for example.
Postcards can be posted as they are or put in an envelope first; this gives you the option of having more space for your written response should you need it.
We would like to credit contributors but it’s OK to make an anonymous submission if you wish.
We regret that we cannot return any of the postcards sent to us.
We reserve the right not to include postcards in our online gallery/exhibition that are deemed inappropriate or offensive.
